TUNING OUT THE NOISE!!!
Intriguing title huh? I had first written the title, "Listening to Your Life." If you are not quite sure what it entails, you are not alone. It certainly isn't as easy as it may sound. Or in the alternative is, as they say, it just might be a 'piece of cake'.
The pandemic has given much, too much, time to think. To reflect, to wonder what ever happened to the rainbows being chased. Whatever happened to the life envisioned. Whatever happened to the ones I loved who chose to not love me back or right or ever.
Writing invites me to pay attention! Pay attention to what you might wonder. Well some of my words remain silent, while some are all too noisy. It is in being able to tell the difference that makes all the difference. And this just may be where the truth is found or where life begins anew.
Some of us may go into a hole to nurse our wounds. And some of us may sit down at the computer and bleed, opening our souls to life as it is, wondering how we can pull ourselves out of the abyss. For as hard as we may try we remain somewhat buried. Some fill their days and nights with busy work, running from place to place. Peace is found in solitude. God is found in solitude.
As Eric Hoffer said "It is loneliness that makes the loudest noise." And I keep remembering Julia Camera in the Right to Write saying, "Happiness is not only a mood. It is a decision."
I often find myself reaching for a hand I cannot touch, and I say a prayer. All too often these prayers come with tears attached. But suddenly I realize that there is a huge difference between being alone and lonely.
So many today are cell phone attached, connected to everyone but themselves. I choose to not be one of them. If you like my blog please let me know and spread the word. Perhaps, just perhaps, it might be helpful to some.
And please try to give of yourself, your time. Call someone and talk. It will mean so much more than an impersonal text message. I know.
